Gibson Custom Shop CS-356 Koa
Ever since 1958, when Gibson introduced the first semi-hollowbody electric guitar, the timeless ES-335, the company’s engineers have been fine-tuning the concept of combining the classic look of a hollowbody with the performance of a solidbody. The CS-356 achieves that goal. It features a single piece mahogany body that is tonally carved to include the back, rims and center block from one piece of wood. Added to that is a figured top and ebony fretboard to give the guitar a classy look with plenty of functionality.
This is a really beautiful CS-356 with an amazing, unique koa top. Koa is highly sought after because of its beauty and tonal characteristics and, due to the recent trade restrictions in this rare Hawaiian timber, will only be harder to obtain in the future. Plugged in this guitar is very warm and clear with lots of midrange, great for chords and rhythm playing. Features gold hardware, an ebony fingerboard with block inlays, and multi-ply binding.
