Ibanez TK999HT Tube King Distortion
The new Ibanez Tube King Distortion pedal takes a leaf out of the Damage Control book with a large, sturdy die-cast chassis turned on its side to conform to a diamond shape. It further emulates Damage Control by having a 12AX7 valve positioned at the 12 o clock position that can be seen through a glass panel.
The middle of the chassis is scooped out to make way for the Lo, Mid, High and Void controls that shape the sound on this distortion pedal. Above these controls are two further knobs - one for Drive and one for Level placed at either side of the Valve.
The 12AX7 Valve is used to produce warm Valve-type distortion and susutain and to remove the synthetic element that some distortion pedals have. At the bottom face of the pedal is the on/off switch whilst above this between the 4 in-line controls is a Presence switch that enhances the top end of the frequency spectrum.
