What's CoreMIDI?
CoreMIDI is the newly developed Apple standard for iOS MIDI apps. An extension of MIDI, the world standard for all non-audio digital recording, CoreMIDI has been established as the exclusive MIDI language for all iOS music apps.

The Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II is a MIDI interface that connects all MIDI equipment to Apple iPhones and iPads. The Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II is compatible with CoreMIDI, the standard for Apple iOS MIDI apps. Record, edit and play back MIDI information using any app on an Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. The Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II MIDI interface ships complete with all the hardware and cables you need to connect to any MIDI instrument with a standard DIN 5-pin in or 5-pin out. MIDI Mobilizer II is easy to set up and its LEDs light up when MIDI messages are being passed through.
Use the Memo Recorder MIDI software, available free on the App Store, that records and plays MIDI data with the Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II interface. Memo Recorder's streamlined interface makes it easy for you to store, find and recall all your synth sounds, POD patches, inspirations, and more.
The original Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer MIDI interface is still available for use with older iOS devices. The original Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer is compatible with iPod touch 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation, iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPad and iPad 2. The original Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer does not support CoreMIDI.
The Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II MIDI interface is compatible with iPod touch 3rd and 4th generations, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, Line 6 MIDI products, and all classic and modern MIDI equipment.
