Ovation's "Bowl-back" technology sets them apart from almost every other electro-acoustic guitar brand and ensures that an Ovation acoustic is a uniquely identifiable instrument. The 1778AX-5 Elite Mid Bowl Electro-Acoustic has a Solid Spruce top with the now familiar Lycracord resin based rear bowl which here is mid-depth.

It has a 5 piece Mahogany & Maple neck hosts a delightful 20 fret Ebony fretboard - Ebony is also used on the bridge. Sound comes courtesy of an Ovation OCP-1K pick-up with the OP Pro Studio pre-amp, whilst the Black satin finish is complimented by the multiple shoulder located sound-holes complete with ornate decoration.This fine instrument is also supplied with an Ovation hard shell case.
