The Ovation 6778 AX Standard Elite Electro-Acoustic Guitar is a mid-depth bowl back guitar. The top of the instrument has been crafted from AA Sitka spruce producing a sweet, resonant sound. The bowl itself has been made using Ovation's patented Lyracord vinyl - designed for its acoustic resonance properties and is complemented by internal scalloped cross bracing. The neck has a dual truss rod insert within a Mahogany 5 piece construction which is blended into a single cut-away at the lower right hand shoulder of the instrument.

Ovation have also managed to re-create the original Ovation pickup from 1968 and this is deployed with their OP Pro pre-amp to re-produce the natural acoustic tone but in a live environment.The Exotic wood Epaulettes and multi-soundhole design make for a unique and striking visage along with the Rosewood fretboard and bridge which incidentally has a compensated saddle for ease of playing. This is a guitar that really does sound as good as it looks.
