New American Dream series
The new American Dream Series is named after the guitar shop where Taylor Guitars was founded in 1974, and reflects the resourcefulness and innovation that have always helped Taylor get through challenging times. Taylor wanted to pack all the essential ingredients of a great guitar into a pro-level instrument, but also make them more affordable.
Notable features on these models include V-Class bracing, and appointments to fit the function of the guitars. They have Taylor’s Grand Pacific body style, and wood pairings include sapele with mahogany, ovangkol with spruce, for which there is also a black top version.
Let’s look at the models:
Taylor AD17 American Dream Acoustic
This is the first GP model to feature ovangkol back and sides, with an African tone wood that has rosewood’s warmth and full midrange, the enhanced power, sustain, and intonation of the V-Class bracing for greater volume, longer sustain, and a more in-tune sound, as well as the GP’s warm, seasoned voice.
The Look
This model has a classic look, with a natural top and a deep Urban Sienna colour treatment for the ovangkol back and sides. This model also features a stained spruce edge trim, a faux tortoiseshell pickguard, and a thin matte body finish which minimizes damping. Available in Black Top and Natural Top.
Taylor AD17e American Dream Electro Acoustic
This is Taylor’s first Grand Pacific model to feature ovangkol back and sides combining rosewood-like properties with the GP’s warm, seasoned voice. The V-Class bracing gives enhanced power, sustain and intonation, making this an incredibly versatile guitar.
The Look
Urban Sienna colour treatment adds rich depth to ovangkol’s natural variegation, chamfered body edges, eucalyptus fretboard/bridge/peghead overlay, 3-ring koa rosette, 4mm dot inlays, and faux tortoise pickguard, and a thin matte finish.
Taylor AD27 American Dream Acoustic
This model , with it’s solid sapele back and sides and mahogany top, which are some of the best all-round tone woods. The mahogany top provides an evenness in tone so you can play across different genres and styles. You get the warm, rich Taylor tone, while the V-Class bracing enhances the volume, sustain, and midrange-focused voicing.
The Look
This model has a round-shoulder dreadnaught shape, an Urban Sienna stain and a matte finish to give it a rootsy aesthetic, a eucalyptus fretboard/ bridge/peghead overlay, single-ring wood rosette, and a faux tortoise pickguard.
Taylor AD27e American Dream Electro Acoustic
This model features solid sapele back and sides, and mahogany top, which is prized for it’s balance and articulation. This makes a hardwood combination that is great for any playing style, providing a meaty midrange and evenness across the tonal spectrum, as well as an aesthetically pleasing look. The V-Class bracing brings enhanced volume, sustain, and intonation, and the Grand Pacific body shape provides a tonal response that evokes the sound of early acoustic recordings.

An Urban Sienna stain and thin matte finish give an unpretentious rootsy look, and there’s chamfered body edges, eucalyptus fretboard/ bridge/peghead overlay, single-ring wood rosette, and a faux tortoise pickguard.
Bespoke Taylor Custom guitars
Taylor Customs are the ultimate Taylors. These bespoke guitars have unusual wood combinations – Cocobolo, Koa, Sassafras, and Walnut are beautiful woods with lots of character. They’re more of an indulgent purchase, but may be worth it for someone looking for a guitar with unique specs. Here’s the different models:
Taylor Custom GA-ce Cocobolo LTD Grand Auditorium Electro Acoustic
Limited to 10 pieces in Europe! The back and sides are made from cocobolo, a dense, stiff tropical hardwood from Mexico, giving a bright overall tone that is articulate and responsive. The V-Class bracing with relief route gives increased bass and volume with a balanced tone.
Other features include a torrefied Sitka spruce top, Hawaiian koa binding and backstrap, and a Mother of Pearl 800 Series Inlay on the West African Ebony fretboard. It has Taylor’s Expression System 2 electronics which provides exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. The GA body shape is suitable for most playing styles.
Taylor Custom GA-ce Koa LTD Grand Auditorium Electro Acoustic
Limited to 24 pieces in Europe! The back and sides are made from Hawaiian Koa, a dense tropical hardwood. Koa can sound quite bright in the beginning, but the more it’s played, the more the sound opens up and gives a richer, sweeter tone. The V-Class bracing increases the bass and volume with a balanced tone.
Other features include a torrefied Sitka spruce top, Cocobolo binding and backstrap, and a Mother of Pearl 800 Series Inlay on the ebony fretboard, and Taylor’s Expression System 2 electronics with provides exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. The GA body shape is suitable for most playing styles.
Taylor Custom GC-ce Koa LTD Grand Concert Electro Acoustic
Limited to 16 pieces in Europe! The back and sides are made from Hawaiian Koa, a dense tropical hardwood. The sound opens up and gives a richer, sweeter tone the more it’s played. The V-Class bracing increases the bass and volume with a balanced tone.
Other features include a torrefied Sitka spruce top, Cocobolo binding and backstrap, and a Mother of Pearl 800 Series Inlay on the ebony fretboard. It has Taylor’s Expression System 2 electronics with provides exceptional amplified tone. The GC body shape is smaller, and more suited to fingerstyle players.
Taylor Custom GP-e Sassafras LTD Grand Pacific Electro Acoustic
This model has an Adirondack spruce top and solid blackheart sassafras back and sides, which has the note distinction and focus of maple, and top-end overtones of rosewood. It also gives a natural, visually striking aesthetic to the guitar.
Other features include cocobolo binding, a mahogany neck, and antique hold Gotoh tuners, which complement the West African peghead veneer. The new Grand Pacific body shape is better suited to strumming and picking styles of playing.

All Deferred Finance options require a 10% deposit, in this case, it would be £630. The amount of credit placed on the finance is £5,669.00. Your payments will be deferred by 6 months, meaning you will not have anything to pay during this period.
After the 6 months deferred period has finished, you will then be automatically put on to a 12 month finance agreement, with 12 monthly repayments of £472.42 at 0.00% APR representative. The total amount repayable, over the 12 months, would be £5,669.00.
