Focusrite expands the appeal and connectivity of their Clarett range with Clarett USB.
Focusrite Introduce New Clarett USB Range
Focusrite stands upon an incredibly illustrious history and pedigree within the recording industry. Founded by none other than Rupert Neve in 1985 its ISA range of preamps (originally commissioned by Beatles producer George Martin) and Forte consoles became legendary, and continue to have an impact on music production to this very day. After Phil Dudderige took the reigns in 1989 Focusrite diversified their product range to include EQ’s, compressors and other creative yet utilitarian outboard equipment with the Green and Platinum ranges at price points accessible to all from the project studio engineer to the fully fledged professional.
Not wishing to rest on their laurels, and after partnering with Digidesign on a series of project studio audio interfaces, in 2004 Focusrite introduced a series of Firewire audio interfaces in their very successful Saffire range. This move into the project studio audio interface market was to prove to be an aikido move for the company and became a decision that through the continuing evolution of these interfaces became the cornerstone of Focusrites business in the new century.
Technology runs at a pace these days, but Focusrite’s steadfastness in this market and their inherent agility as a company means they rarely got caught out regardless of what new proprietary connector format computer manufacturers throw at them.
With their Clarett range of Thunderbolt interfaces, Focusrite raised the bar in data transfer rates, quality of conversion and quality of microphone preamps, and now they have broadened the Clarett’s range of appeal and connectivity with USB equipped versions of the most popular products in the range. Including USB and USB 3 cabling and connectivity in the box means you can hit the ground running regardless of whether your Mac is brand new, or 10 minutes old. I won’t delve into technical specifics here, for all that information check out product listing page, but suffice to say Focusrite’s continue to be a vanguard in what is a crowded challenging market, and Clarett USB continues that tradition of being at the zenith in this field.
