Pioneer Toraiz AS-1 Monophonic Analogue Synthesizer

Pioneer have described the product as an “ideal addition to the set-ups of professional and aspiring producers.” This is a product you won’t want to miss out on.

If you’re a true synth nut, you will be aware of Dave Smith and his legendary synthesizers. The AS-1 uses his true analog synthesis engine, taken straight from the Prophet-6 synth to give you a truly classic analog sound.

Arguably the kings of the DJ world, Pioneer have been developing DJ equipment for years and their vast experience has been used to develop an exceptional user interface. On the unit you’ll find intuitive controls which will enable you to truly personalize the sound. There is a touchpad-style keyboard and slider which allows you to manipulate sounds and there are are also seven on-board effects (including the digital distortion taken from the Prophet-6.)

You’ll find 495 preset programmes on the AS-1, each with their own unique sound and fully editable with the 2 VCOs, 2 VCFs, and VCA, 2 EGs and 1 LFO. There is also a 64-step sequence that can be edited separately.

Fully connectable to the TORAIZ SP-16, connecting to the SP-16 via MIDI will enable you to create complex patterns. The two products can then be connected to a DJM mixer to add loops and one shots to your DJ sets.

Can we expect any other surprises from at Pioneer at NAMM 2017? We’ll find out at in only a few hours time.
