Top 5 DJ Controllers Under £500!

Here are our Top 5 DJ Controllers for under £500!

Pioneer DDJ RB – £219

The Pioneer DDJ RB is a slick little controller designed for Pioneer’s own Rekordbox DJ software, that has the build quality and the looks to rival many professional setups. The Jog wheels are satisfyingly chunky, and with 16 multifunction pads (hot cues, sampler, pad FX and a slicer) you’ve got everything you need to get going straight out of the box. Rekordbox DJ comes as a full license, so you’ve got some incredible features for your money.

Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 £187

Possibly the most successful DJ controller series ever, the Mixtrack Pro 3 from Numark is a force to be reckoned with. With solid jog wheels, touch strip effects, and long (100mm) pitch faders, it punches way above its weight (1.81 KG for all you mobile DJs), and it looks great too! Numark is always producing interesting and progressive products, and this one doesn’t disappoint.

Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S4 Mk2 – £469

Native Instruments’ Traktor is one of the main players in industry standard DJ software and for good reason. It’s flexibility and feature set for regular DJ routines and more advanced live remix sets make it a must try for any DJ. The Kontrol S4 Mk2 was the flagship controller for Traktor (until the Kontrol S8 came out), and for the money, the spec is fantastic. Controls for 4 decks, remix and stems decks, and inputs for turntables or CDJs to connect with Traktor Scratch, make this hardy controller my favourite of the bunch.

Numark Party Mix£84

The Numark Party mix is a tiny controller, with almost everything you could want from one! Working with Virtual DJ LE, this controller has switchable function trigger pads for hot cues, effects, looping and sample triggering, as well as a full EQ on its mixer controls. A fully fledged sound card means you can plug into any speaker system, and plug in headphones to cue your tracks. The party lights on the back are just the icing on the cake!

Check me out having a funky time with it…

Pioneer DDJ-WeGO4 – £269

Another one from Pioneer, the WeGO4 is the most recent incarnation of Pioneers iOS compatible controller. Compact, sleek and additionally available in white, this controller is great fun, especially in conjunction with the excellent Algoriddim Djay 2 app, which allows you to use Spotify as a track source. All the usual controls are there, hot cues, looping and sampler, and now the package comes with a full license for Rekordbox DJ, so you can get mixing on a laptop straight away.

So, something for everyone on this list, from the beginner to the professional looking to move into digital DJing. Happy spinning!
