The Boss SL-20 Slicer Twin Stompbox is designed to transform any live instrument or recorded track into a percussive chopped grooves. Featuring 50 different slice patterns onboard, including the incredible 'Harmonic Slicer' feature that generates great percussive melodies, the SL-20 is designed to transform any live instrument or recorded track into unique patterns and phrases. There are also functions for loop recording, tap tempo and the ability to sync to an external MIDI Clock.

The Effect Level and Direct Level knob give you the ability to choose between a fully-sliced sound or to have a dry/wet mix of the sliced sound and the dry sound for a more subtle effect. You can use the SL-20 with live instruments as well as any other musical playback devices and if you feel like it, it can be a great rhythmic performance tool for DJ's.

Q1: What is the external MIDI clock function?
A: You can connect your SL-20 to an external clock via MIDI cable. The MIDI clock fucntion allows you to sync the SL-20 with other MIDI devices and share tempo information to the pedal unit.

Q2: Which expression pedal is compatible with the SL-20?
A: You can use the Roland EV-5 or the Boss FV500H/L expression pedals with the SL-20. These can be used to externally adjust settings to the sound.

Q3: Can I use other instruments with the SL-20?
A: Yes, you can use any instrument with the Slicer. Guitars, Bass, Drum Machines, Keys and even MP3 players!

Q4: How long is the battery life?
A: The SL-20 uses a 9V PP-3 type battery. Using an Alkaline battery (6LR61) will give upto 6 hours of use. The SL-20 can also be powered by an optional AC adapter such as the Boss PSA.
