Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 HSH 2PT Mahogany, Natural Overview

Charvel once again ups the ante for modern high performance combined with elegant style and crushing tone with the Pro-Mod DK24 HSH 2PT CM Mahogany, a stunning new instrument designed especially for a new breed of player whose musical vision and versatility knows no boundaries.

The sleekly sculpted mahogany Dinky™ body features a scalloped lower back bout and shredder’s cut heel that make access to the upper registers seamless. The bolt-on caramelized maple “speed” neck has graphite reinforcement for sturdy stability against environmental warping and a silky-smooth hand-rubbed satin urethane finish on the back for sublime playability. Luminlay® side dots guide your way along the fretboard on even the darkest of stages, and the heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel makes for painless neck relief tweaks. Designed for fast playing, the 12”-16” compound radius caramelized maple fingerboard features comfortable rolled edges, 24 jumbo frets, pearloid dot inlays and Graph Tech® TUSQ® XL nut.

Smooth sustain paired with warm, buttery timbre radiates from a custom Seymour Duncan® Full Shred™ SH-10B bridge pickup, Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat® SSL-6 single-coil middle pickup and custom Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro™ APH-1N neck pickup. The bridge pickup emits a bright tone with a tight low end and scooped mids. The middle pickup is the perfect blend of heightened output and springy Stratocaster attitude, while the humbucking neck pickup shines with a distinct warmth that is silky and boasts incredible natural sustain.

Taking our modern DK24 platform up a notch, this 2PT model’s premium modern features include a five-way blade pickup switch, Stratocaster®-style skirt knobs for the volume (with 500K EVH® Bourns® low friction potentiometer) and no-load tone controls, Gotoh® Custom 510 tremolo bridge, Charvel-branded locking tuners and more.

Sporting sophisticated style, the Pro-Mod DK24 HSH 2PT CM Mahogany is available in an all-new Natural finish with gold hardware.

Fantastic guitar. Absolutely delighted. It's a totally stripped down, high quality guitar which is very versatile.Lots of features which are so well thought out.

Fantastic guitar, the roasted maple neck everyone's going crazy about certainly lives up to the hype, best neck I've ever played on. Unfortunately, whoever set this guitar up at GAK set it up with 10s (it's supposed to come with 9s from the factory) and lost the trem tightening screw in the process. Luckily I was able to pick one up online for a couple of £ so not an issue, but slightly concerning that this wasn't checked. The wrong string gauge meant it took some time to set up and in doing so it became apparent that some of the frets weren't level and I couldn't quite get the action as low as I'd have liked. Some fret levelling later and things were much better. Not had any of the tuning issues others have mentioned either, it's incredibly stable when using the trem (generous amounts of nut sauce applied) to bridge and nut. Didn't need to bypass string trees either. All in all, a fantastic guitar, but you may need to do some maintenance to get it perfect. Highly recommended.

An amazing guitar for a great price (from GAK that is!). Charvel has a reputation for being a shredder/hair metal guitar maker from the 80's but I think these new models are taking them in a new direction as well. First I would say that this guitar gives you pickup combinations that make it incredibly versatile. On both ends of the 5 way are the usual humbucker-on-its-own positions, The next 3 positions are 2 - spilt bridge and middle (like a Strat but with more oomph! ) 3 - Split bridge and neck humbuckers like a Tele on steroids! 4 - middle pickup and split neck humbucker like a glassy Strat. The neck is a dream to play. I was used to a Strat neck profile but this is something else. The feel is really smooth and super fast, the trem will need a bit of breaking in but it works fine for a non locking Gotoh. The mahogany body is really comfortable, accessible at the neck joint, resonant and adds a lot of brightness to the sound. I'm very happy with this. It is my first Charvel and it may not be my last!

Amazing guitar, fastest playing neck I've ever had. Was in tune out of the box! Great variety of tones from the Seymour Duncan pickups. The only issue is the quality control is a bit variable, I had one replaced due to a loose washer on the neck screw and pickups that had no height adjustment.
