Cordoba 15SM Soprano Ukulele
The Cordoba 15 Series is a line of handmade ukuleles with mahogany tops, backs and sides. The fingerboard and body ivroid binding give these entry level ukuleles a classic appearance. Unlike similar instruments at this price point, the Cordoba 15 Series ukuleles all have an authentic abalone rosette and satin finish. This is the baby of my collection. Normally I don't get on with the scale length of soprano ukes but I bought this because it fits the criteria for fitting into hand-luggage on aeroplanes (I never travel with the concert of tenor because the airline always wants to to put them in the hold.) At under £80 it's a steal. The tone is good and for a small instrument it's pretty loud. The intonation is good but begins to drift up at around the 12th fret which isn't surprising on a soprano, but it's more than acceptable. People playing in the open and first few fret positions will have no problems at all. It comes with Aquila strings which I shall probably change for stiffer strings soon - but that's my preference. Córdoba are a great make (my tenor is Córdoba) and this hasn't disappointed me in any way.
Really great looking, holds it’s pitch well. Has a lovely feel to it.
