Denon MCX8000 DJ Controller Overview

Denon MCX8000 DJ Controller overview by GAK

Utilising Denon DJ's new 'Engine 1.5' software, prepare and execute the perfect mix without the need for a computer, high-quality 24-bit audio, intuitive control and more, direct from USB.

The MCX8000 is an impressive sight to behold, straight out of the box its high build quality of this all-metal controller is clear. The MCX8000 has a spacious layout optimised for fluid control. It feels accessible and roomy, with all of its function location obvious at first glance, a welcome improvement on smaller bunched-up controllers in the same class.

The MCX8000 has 4 assignable decks and 4-channels with assignable inputs, dedicated software and hardware filters as well as intuitive pitch fader, platter and cross-fader controls, that give you precise, fingertip control over your mix.

8 velocity-sensitive backlit pads add a huge element of creativity and advanced control to your mixing. Assign hot cue's, apply 'Roll' to chop and beat-jump. Use the 'Slicer' to capture and loop those pivotal moments and trigger hits, sirens, vocals and more via the 'Sampler'.

The MCX8000's direct access auto-loop function can accommodate your mix by lengthening intro's and outro's. Additionally, shift the beat-range of your loop with the half and double buttons and create your own build-ups and crowd-pleasing drops.

The MXC8000 has 2 ultra-clear backlit LED HD screens that display high-resolution colour waveforms and track information, whilst additionally providing a clear and accessible navigational tool to browse your Engine 1.5 created folders and playlists via BPM, key and length, quick and efficient track access to always ensure you never miss that perfect track.

Transform your performance into a full audio-visual experience via the MXC8000's 'Stage LinQ' network connection to control lighting, video, pyrotechnics and more. Using
an ethernet connection on the rear face of the controller, the MXC8000 can connect to advanced mechanised lighting rigs and visualisers and automatically sync its output to these devices to create a fully integrated audio-visual show.

The MXC8000 is Serato DVS upgrade ready thanks to its 2 rear facing DVA inputs, allowing you to hook up your own turntables or CDJ's and use Serato's timecode technology to control your mix via vinyl or CD.

The Denon DJ 'Engine 1.5' software is an invaluable organisational tool for the professional DJ. It's collection support applications include the ability to create playlists containing up to 1000 tracks and categorize your music via a crate and sub-crate system. The 'Auto-Analyze' function quickly imports all the crucial track information you need to make informed mixing decisions, generating key, time-signature, and BPM information, as well as creating high-resolution colour waveforms.
