Dunlop CBJ95 Cry Baby Junior Wah Pedal Overview

The Dunlop Cry Baby Wah is one of the most famous pedals in history. First manufactured in 1966, the Cry Baby has become an essential part of any guitarist’s pedalboard and boasts probably the best list of endorsees you could possibly imagine, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and David Gilmour.

The “wah-wah” effect was originally intended to imitate the “crying tone” of a muted trumpet, though this percussive effect has become its own expressive tool. It can most commonly be heard during guitarist’s solos or creating the infamous “wacka-wacka” sound that regularly features in Funk music.

The Dunlop CBJ95 Cry Baby Junior Wah Pedal is specifically designed with the touring musician in mind, as it now fits perfectly onto Pedaltrain’s Metro Series, Classic, Novo, and Terra Series pedalboards - Meaning your board can be neater than ever before!

The Cry Baby Junior Wah hasn’t just been made to sit snugly on a pedalboard. Dunlop has also included three of their most popular voices, H, M and L covering the full frequency spectrum. The H setting gives you the aggressive modern sound of the GCB95, M provides the midrange growl of vintage wah pedals, and L provides a sound that’s dark and rich. Each of these is switchable via an easily accessible switch on the right side of the pedal chassis.

Overview By Dunlop

The Cry Baby Junior Wah is purpose-built for pedalboards. Designed in collaboration with Pedaltrain, this wah has been carefully crafted for maximum layout efficiency on the world’s most popular boards. Front-mounted input, output, and power jacks allow for a tighter configuration of pedals, freeing up space on the sides that would normally be taken up by cable ends.

And speaking of cables, the Cry Baby Junior Wah’s 8” housing length lines up perfectly with the routing spaces on boards such as those from Pedaltrain’s Metro Series, in particular—as well as those from the Classic, Novo, and Terra Series—making for a nice, clean arrangement of cords.

THREE SWITCHABLE VOICES

The Cry Baby Junior Wah allows for just as much versatility in tone as it does for your pedalboard layout. On the side of the pedal is a convenient and accessible three-position switch that allows you to choose one of our three most popular Cry Baby Wah voices, covering the full frequency spectrum. The H setting gives you the aggressive modern sound of the GCB95, M provides the midrange growl of vintage wah pedals, and L provides a sound that’s dark and rich.

You don’t have to choose between a tidy pedalboard and your Cry Baby Wah fix—get the Cry Baby Junior Wah for the ultimate freedom of expression and pedalboard layout.

Great sounds changing the switch. Great size on my pedalboard without being to intrusive.
