Both the 8" and 10" toms are made from North American hard rock maple for a full tone and responsive dynamics: great for orchestras, percussion ensembles, and pit percussion. True-Pitch tuning rods provide reliable fine-tuning over each drum's tone.
You get impressive punch and tone from the Design Series concert tom set. The secret is DW's HVLT shell construction, which uses multiple plies of maple arranged with alternating grain patterns. By alternating the direction of the wood grains, HVLT shells are more rigid, enhancing their focus and attack for better live projection.
