Epiphone Les Paul SL, Sunset Yellow
Epiphone Les Paul SL Overview by GAK:
Brand new for 2017 is the Les Paul SL- the most affordable twin pickup Les Paul ever made! Legendary Epiphone quality combines with a funky new design and a combination of traditional vintage-inspired 'worn' finishes and bold new 'gloss' colour options. So the SL has a slimline Poplar body- a popular tonewood. The bolt-on Mahogany neck has the usual LP 24.5" scale length and a great-feeling slim taper 'D' back shape with a Rosewood composite fingerboard. There's a '60s era gold 'Epiphone' logo on the classic 'clipped ear' headstock.
Now we are sure the Les Paul himself would have approved of the electronics on the SL- he was a fan of single-coil pickups on his guitars! The 650SCR neck pickup and slightly overwound 700SCT bridge pickup both feature ceramic magnets to give the 'oomph' needed to cut through. A three-way toggle switch and single master volume and tone controls keep it nice and simple. Hardware wise there's a set of premium covered 14:1 ratio machineheads and a wrap-around stopbar bridge. Includes the two year Epiphone factory warranty.

This guitar is of outstanding quality for £119. Most guitars require setting-up before being played. This one only requires minor adjustments and for a beginner would certainly be OK to learn on out of the box. The action was low and there was no string buzz across the fret board. Very simple bridge and controls. I would recommend this guitar to a beginner or any guitarist who just wants single coils on a Les Paul type body!
Love this guitar. Great quality at a terrific price.
Brilliant quality for price, plays well straight from the box and stays in tune. Got this as a lightweight general practice that I can leave out to grab at anytime. It doesn’t disappoint the pickups are bright and sharp the action is a bit high for me and the bridge is probably not the best. It seems to support 9’s as well so not sure if it will be ok with 10’s but hey I’m not complaining it’s definitely a bargain.
The guitar is a bargain at the price. I couldn't find any faults or imperfections on the guitar. It sounds great and looks great too., justvehat I wanted to compliment the other guitars in my collection. Yes it doesn't have top notch hardware or strings but what it has does the job. If I expected top quality I would have paid a lot mire money. So taking everything into consideration it is certainly worth 5 stars.
Absolutely love it! Beautiful colour, sounds so nice. I used to play acoustic but wanted to switch and didn’t want to spend too much money. This is exactly what I needed, thank you!
