Epiphone 1956 Les Paul Standard PRO LTD, Chicago Blue Overview

The Epiphone 1956 Les Paul Standard PRO features Epiphone's new P-90 PRO pickups. These are made to the original specs of vintage P-90s to get you classic P-90 tone. Original specs include bobbin shape, 18% nickel/silver base, and Elektrosola wire.

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard PRO features a solid Mahogany body with maple veneer top which continues this guitar's hunt for vintage Les Paul tone and sustain. The solid mahogany neck has a 12" radius fingerboard to make bending easier and features a beefier 1950s Rounded "C" profile. The rosewood fingerboard has pearloid trapezoid inlays, 22 medium-jumbo frets, a 1.68" nut, and cream binding. The body also has single-ply cream binding, further helping the classic vintage vibe.

Epiphone's P-90 PRO pickups feature Alnico V magnets, the same magnets used in early '50s Les Pauls. These Alnico V magnets provide a rich, warm tone with plenty of sparkling high-end and a solid bottom to make the Les Paul Standard PRO '1956' a seriously versatile guitar. Like all of Epiphone's new range of 'PRO' pick-ups these feature high-quality parts and materials, including ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 Cold Rolled Steel pole shoes and pole screws, and only the finest magnet wire.

The Les Paul Standard PRO also comes with high-spec hardware, including a LockTone Tune-o-matic and Stopbar tailpiece. Epiphone's updated, patent pending design locks the bridge and tailpiece in place, with no tools needed. Epiphone have even gone to the length of designing a proprietary output jack that features an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel to increase reliability. Epiphone's new Deluxe 18:1 ratio machine heads make tuning easy, precise, and reliable.
