Epiphone Mayfair 5-String Banjo, Red Brown Mahogany Overview

The Epiphone Mayfair 5-String Banjo is a recreation of this historic first generation G-Banjo masterpiece. Originally designed and debuted back in the '20s, this new instrument features a Mahogany Resonator, historic Mayfair inlay design, Mahogany Neck, traditional headstock design, and Remo Banjo head.

The new Mayfair 5-String Banjo is the combination of the familiar 5-string banjo format with the timeless Epiphone design and detail that made it one of the finest stringed instrument builders of its day. The Mahogany Resonator's historic Mayfair banner design is made in pearloid, blue/green, and red, and is surrounded by ornate pearloid binding. There's also a maple/ebony bridge and clamshell tailpiece which work in conjunction with the Remo head and mahogany resonator to give this banjo a huge tone and great volume.

The neck is also made of Mahogany, has simple, single layer binding, a traditional C profile and dual 'coordinator' to help set-up and even intonation. The fingerboard is made out of Rosewood, has 22 frets, Snowflake fingerboard inlays, and a the historic Epiphone logo at the end. To complete the vintage spec and overall historic vibe the headstock has traditional Epiphone banjo tuners, plus an '20s style headstock profile with a perfect recreation of the original Mayfair logo. To match the back design this is also in pearloid, red, and blue/green. All together this banjo has a pretty hot looking, period correct aesthetic.
