Fender Custom Shop 1960 Telecaster Heavy Relic, Shell Pink Overview

This incredible Telecaster encapsulates all the best elements of a prized, vintage instrument - with the famous twang, smooth playability and a look that oozes mojo. With a top-flight spec and Fender Custom Shop’s renowned craftsmanship, this Tele is bound to put a smile on your face!

World-Class Construction

Beautifully constructed by Fender’s world-class Custom Shop luthiers, this Telecaster features a carefully selected spec, hand-selected materials and a premium build. This particular Custom Shop Tele is based on a vintage 60’s model.

Vintage Playability

The Maple neck features a quartersawn 60’s Oval “C” shape that’s adorned with a Sort For dark rosewood fretboard (which means the wood for this 'board was hand-chosen for its rich, dark colour) and jumbo 6100 frets (which are praised for having superior sustain & tone whilst making bending easier).

This neck feels substantial, providing an authentic old-school playing experience. If you’re a fan of earlier Telecasters, you’ll love how this one plays. Combined with the classic Alder body, this Tele has bags of bona fide vintage character.

Battle-Hardened Beauty

Boasting a striking combo of a Shell Pink finish and Mint Green pickguard, this Custom Shop Telecaster stands out from the crowd with ease. The guitar has been given the Heavy Relic treatment, using a Nitrocellulose lacquer and an exacting process to make this instrument look and play like a rough-and-ready, battle-hardened beauty. This an instrument that begs to be picked up and played, with tonnes of character and soul.

Premium Components

This Custom Shop 1960’s Telecaster comes equipped with Modern Tele Wiring and the Twisted Tele pickup set. These pups can pull of glassy & bright as well as vintage & warm, with an even response across all of the strings. They’ve been heavily overwound with select coated wire, which provides plenty of heat whilst retaining that classic Fender sparkle.

Modern Reliability

Whilst this guitar has the appearance, playability and sound of a sought-after vintage Telecaster, thanks to its rock-solid Fender Gotoh vintage tuners and Vintage bridge with threaded saddles, you also have modern workhorse dependability.

This Fender Custom Shop 1960s Heavy Relic’d Telecaster is a guitar for player’s that demand a no-nonsense instrument that’ll inspire every time you pick it up. With its captivating Shell Pink looks and gorgeous worn-in aesthetic, you’ll always want to!
