Fender Custom Shop 1961 Jazz Bass Relic, Shell Pink Overview

This gorgeous Jazz Bass was crafted by the artisan luthiers at the Fender Custom Shop, using the only best tonewoods and components. The result is a J-Bass that has an unmistakble vintage character, a stunning look and an impressive spec to boot. Even the most discerning Jazz Bass aficionados will fall in love with this stunning instrument.

Classic Feel & Sound

This particular Fender CS Jazz Bass is based on the iconic 1964 model, giving it a “golden era” feel to its looks and sound. Classic J-Bass playability is catered for by the smooth Quarter Sawn Maple neck, which features a '60s U profile. The neck boasts a AAA Dark Rosewood fretboard, which looks gorgeous and feels fantastic.

The Alder body forms the tonal foundation of this J-Bass, providing a clear, balanced sound with a hefty amount of sustain. It’s coated in a sweet Shell Pink nitrocellulose finish, which promotes resonance and will look great as it ages.

Gorgeous Worn-In Look

With its Custom Shop Relic treatment, this J-Bass has the authentic look and feel of a well-played instrument. Every aspect of this bass has been masterfully processed to give it that timeless, worn-in character.

Modern Reliability

This Custom Shop Jazz Bass gives you the best aspects of a vintage instrument (the look, sound & feel) with the rock-solid reliability of a modern one. This is due to the Custom Shop’s astounding built-quality and their use of the finest components. If you’re needing an authentically vintage Jazz Bass sound for your studio session or performance, you can count on this one to deliver. Plus, compared to a J-Bass made in '64, it’s significantly more affordable!

This Jazz Bass is a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the artisan luthiers at Fender’s Custom Shop. With the meticulous way they’ve made this bass, you’ll be certain that it was made decades ago.
