Fender Custom Shop '62 Stratocaster Heavy Relic, Faded Sonic Blue over Black Overview

Fender Custom Shop '62 Stratocaster Heavy Relic, Faded Sonic Blue over Black, Overview by GAK:

A great 1962 Heavy Relic Strat in Faded Sonic Blue over Black, an unusual but period correct feature that Fender used to use to fulfill Custom Colours and Special Orders back in the day. Featuring a two-piece Alder body, sorted for lightweight wood. The Quartersawn neck has a 60s Oval "C" shape (measuring 0.790" at 1st fret thickening to 0.930" at the 12th) with an 'AAA' grade Rosewood, sorted for Dark Rosewood, 9.5" radius fingerboard, Narrow and Tall 6105 frets and a 1.65" Micarta nut. The fingerboard edges are nicely rolled to give that 'broken in' feel. Electronics wise we've got some Handwound FAT 60s with modern wiring and bridge wired to Tone. Ships with Custom Shop black hardshell case.

A Fender Custom Shop instrument is as good as it gets. You know it when you play one—it’s filled with intangible, electrifying elements that adds a new dimension to your playing experience. It’s as if the instrument itself is imbued with history, and is as close as it gets to an original build Fender from the Golden Era.

The Custom Shop builders are completely dedicated to their art, they’re the best at what they do, and they pour all of their passion, hard-earned knowledge and skill into every instrument they build. It’s no ordinary place, and the creations that come from it are no ordinary instruments. Whether they're Teambuilt or Masterbuilt.
