Fender Custom Shop '64 Jazz Bass NOS, Burgundy Mist Metallic with Matching Headstock Overview

Another beautifully crafted J-Bass with tonnes of vintage character from the world-class Fender Custom Shop.

Vintage Character

This Fender Custom Shop '64 Jazz Bass delivers the sought-after tone, look and feel of a Golden Era instrument with the rock-solid reliability of a modern one. The foundation of the period-correct spec is the select Alder body, which has the balance and resonance that made the tonewood a Fender staple. Complimenting the body is the Birdseye Maple neck, which boasts a stunning grain pattern. The classic combination of Alder and Maple provides the crisp note definition, singing sustain and snappy attack that you’d expect from a vintage Fender.

Comfortable Playability

The neck has been carefully carved to a comfortable '75 Jazz profile and is topped with a silky smooth Rosewood fretboard. The fretboard is adorned with Narrow Tall (or 6105) frets, which lend a modern edge to this '64 Jazz’s playability.

New Old Stock

Whilst other Fender Custom Shop instruments have been aged to reflect years of playing and performing, this '64 Jazz Bass has been given the New Old Stock aging style. Everything about this Jazz Bass is pristine, with an all-lacquer finish that looks like it hasn’t aged at all. It’s as if it were bought brand new in 1964 and brought directly into the present day.

Classic Pickups

The Fender Custom Shop have equipped this '64 Jazz Bass with a pair of '60s Jazz Bass pickups. These are closely based on vintage Jazz Bass pickups, with all the detail and depth that you’d expect. The pickups feature an overwound design for extra output and a distinctive mid-range growl that’s well-suited to modern styles.

This Custom Shop Jazz Bass is a prime example of the iconic instrument, fusing the most desirable features of a prized Golden Era-made model with the hotter tone and slicker playability of a modern Fender.
