Premium Tonewoods

The core of the Fender Custom Shop LTD '50s Twisted Tele Custom is a bound two-piece Ash body. Ash has been a staple Fender tonewood for decades and was the go-to choice for their electric guitars during the 1950s. It’s renowned for its quick, expressive attack, articulate dynamic range and top-end clarity. The body is coated in a Journeyman Relic lacquer finish that’s been carefully aged for an endearing “played-in” look.

AA Flame Maple Neck

The body is paired with a gorgeous one-piece 2A Flame Quartersawn Maple neck that’s been sanded back for that smooth satin feel. As you’d expect from Maple, this neck imparts extra snap to the guitar’s natural voice whilst enhancing note definition. The Fender Custom Shop has carved the Flame Maple neck to a classic 1957 soft “V” that old-school Tele lovers will adore.

Vintage Compound Radius

The fretboard’s vintage compound radius gradually rounds out and becomes more modern feeling as you ascend it, giving you the best of both. Topping the fretboard is 21 Narrow Tall (6105) frets, which are Fender’s most popular fret type thanks to their hybrid feel.

Twisted Tele Pickups

A highlight of the Fender Custom Shop '50s Twisted Tele Custom’s feature-set is the stunning handwound single-coil pickups. As a twist, the bridge pickup’s angle has been reversed, fattening up the treble strings and tightly defining the bass side. In addition to the iconic three-way switching, the Fat '50s Tele wiring delivers a more transparent bloom and adds extra juiciness to the tone.

Aged Hardware

Premium appointments include a single-ply eight-hole parchment pickguard, aged vintage-style tuners and a single-wing string tree. Perfect intonation and stable tuning are handled by the reverse Nocaster bridge with compensated brass saddles and the bone nut.
