Fender FSR Japan Stratocaster HSS, Rosewood Fingerboard, Silver Sparkle Overview
This Fender FSR Japanese Stratocaster comes in a beautiful Silver Sparkle finish, making sure that anyone that goes for one will stand out from the crowd. The Japanese Fender team have become renowned for doing things a little differently to their American or Mexican counterparts and have become sought after guitars for their unconventional spec, yet spectacular build quality for the price. For this reason, Made-In-Japan guitars can be fairly hard to come by, making them hard to get your hands on and when you do see one, they disappear quick!
This particular Japanese Strat is an FSR model, standing for “Fender Special Run”. These guitars are specially commissioned, built to custom specifications and ship in limited numbers. This Fender FSR Japan Stratocaster, with an HSS pickup configuration, rosewood fingerboard and gorgeous Silver Sparkle finish, is only shipping from Fender in 50 units for the whole of Europe, so act fast!
Underneath the dazzling finish are an alder body and maple neck, which is the classic wood combo for a Fender Strat. The fingerboard on this model is made of Rosewood and paired with the painted black headstock, this Strat keeps confirm that it needs to be gauped at.
What makes this particular Strat unusual, aside from the obvious aesthetic choices, is the “U” shape neck. It’s much deeper than your typical Stratocaster neck, filling the fretting hand more like an old school Tele would. The thick neck has been balanced out by a 9.5-inch radius and modern medium jumbo frets, making it comfortable and easy to play.
Any garish guitar needs a tremolo, obviously. The Fender FSR Japan Stratocaster HSS, Rosewood Fingerboard, Silver Sparkle has a vintage style 2-point synchronized tremolo for all your vibrato needs. It also features vintage locking tuners and a bone nut for exceptional string stability.
This FSR Japanese Strat has arguably the most versatile Stratocaster pickup configuration, HSS. The humbucker, found in the bridge position, is the high-quality Shawbucker which is found on the Fender American Standard. It’s got the bark, bite and plenty of punch, despite its fairly low output. The USA Vintage single coils in the middle and neck positions give you the quintessential Strat chime. Mix and match the three for a truly unique tone. The pickups even have zebra style pickup covers, again, making this look as loud as you’ll want to play it.
