Fantastic versatile amp. Particularly good for clean channel and with external effects. More than loud enough!
Really great amp and sounds great with my guitars
A magnificent amp, at a fantastic price. I wanted an amp that would sound brilliant at low volumes, but with the capacity to be used at small concerts. This amp was recommended by a friend (someone I’d describe as a guitar veteran, world-class guitarist and experienced guitar recorder!) and his advice has proved to be absolutely accurate.
Haven't had this amp long enough to do any in depth review. I bought it on reputation and published reviews. It holds up to all I've heard and read up till now and I feel confident to push it to the limit. The cleanest of cleans at very high volumes and it seems to just dare you to push it harder with any pedal combination you could stick at the front end. The drive range is crazy with humbuckers and single coils sound superb from clean or on fire via any type of pedal that boosts and pushes the input. The spring reverb is sweet and really sells this amp. All valve and natural spring reverb tank is what I set out to buy but the power of this beautiful Fender combo is its main selling point. It is loud...real loud! Forget what you think you know about loud! It's rated 40 Watts RMS through a single 12" American type Celestion and it's loud enough for most gigs and will easily cut through a podium mounted drummer with tons of room to spare. If your in the market for a decent combo, stick this Fender Hot Rod Deluxe on your list to try out at your local dealer or if you want even more headroom you could try it's big brother Hot Rod Deville, a 2x12 at 60 watts. It's no surprise why these amps are industry standard backline. Their reputation precedes them and now I understand why.
