The Fender Limited Edition Gold Foil Telecaster is a special-run electric guitar inspired by cult classic models from the sixties. Featuring two DeArmond-style mini-humbuckers, a matching headstock and an Ebony fretboard, this Tele has a captivating tone to match its retro looks.

Gold Foil Collection

This Fender Telecaster is part of the Gold Foil Limited Collection, where each model oozes vintage charm and tone. Boasting high-end appointments across the board, including unique finishes, Ebony fretboards, premium hardware and special gold foil pickups, these Fender guitars and basses are bound to captivate players looking for an authentic 60s flavour. Although the Fender Gold Foil series is based on now sought-after “student guitars” from back in the day, you can expect every guitar in the range to be made with Fender’s trademark professional-quality construction.

Out of the Ordinary

Whilst Alder or Ash are often the go-to for Fender Telecaster bodies, the Gold Foil Collection version features a Mahogany body. As a tonewood, Mahogany is well-known for its sweet, punchy growl, juicy mid-range and singing sustain. The Maple neck is carved to a comfortable '60s “C” profile and features a glass-like bound Ebony fretboard with a modern 9.5" radius and 21 Medium Jumbo frets. The neck also features a satin urethane finish for an inviting “played-in” feel and a matched headcap for that classic look.

Kitted Out

Giving the Fender Gold Foil Telecaster its sixties Garage Rock vibe are pair of Gold Foil mini-humbuckers, which are controlled via the classic three-way Tele switch. These pickups are renowned for their bright and crisp yet remarkably full tonal character, with exceptional string-to-string separation and clarity. Fender also equip the Gold Foil Tele with premium hardware from top-to-bottom, including vintage-style tuners with white buttons and a custom 3-saddle “cut-off” Tele bridge with brass saddles.

Available Finishes

There are two Fender Gold Foil Telecaster models available in their own sleek, old-school finish, a Gold Foil Telecaster in Candy Apple Burst and a Gold Foil Telecaster in White Blonde. For Jazzmaster fans, there are two Gold Foil versions of the iconic offset - a Candy Apple Burst Jazzmaster and a Shoreline Gold Jazzmaster.
