Are Fender Player Series Strats worth it?

There’s no doubt that the Fender Stratocaster is a legendary instrument. The Strat’s distinctive retro-futuristic looks, articulate tone and expressive tremolo bridge have made it the electric guitar of choice for iconic artists such as Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Nile Rodgers, John Frusciante and countless others.

The Player Series Stratocaster is an exceptional guitar for the price, delivering all the quintessential qualities that made the Fender Strat the go-to guitar for many professional players. Boasting upgraded Player Series pickups, 2-point tremolos with an ultra-smooth action and Fender’s trademark build quality, the Fender Player Stratocaster more than lives up to its legacy. The comfy Modern “C” neck shape has an inviting feel that will suit any player, from beginners to seasoned professionals. It’s a superb choice if you’re looking for a seriously versatile and reliable electric guitar that won’t break the bank.

Where are Fender Player Stratocasters made?

The Fender Player Stratocaster is made at Fender’s factory in Ensenada, Mexico. Like anything with Fender emblazoned on the headstock, the Player Stratocaster is a high-quality instrument that will feel and sound top-notch for many years to come.

What pickups are in a Fender Player Stratocaster?

All Fender Player Series Stratocasters are outfitted with upgraded Alnico Player Series pickups. These pickups deliver the crisp, articulate Fender tone you know and love with a modern edge.

In addition to the classic Strat pickup configuration (where the neck pickup, middle pickup and bridge pickup are all single-coils), the Player Series Stratocaster is offered in HSS (with a humbucker in the bridge) and HSH (with humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions) configurations. If you want to access crisp single-coil and fat, punchy humbucking tones, the HSS and HSH models give you both in one seriously versatile guitar. Some HSS models swap out the 2-point tremolo bridge for a double-locking Floyd Rose system - perfect for shredders who want to pull off Van Halen-style squeals and divebombs.
