Fret-King Esprit I, Gun Hill Blue, Second-Hand Overview
Introducing the Fret-King Black Label Esprit I in Gun Hill Blue – a guitar that exudes iconic style with a twist of individuality. The recognizable reversed six-a-side in-line peghead and distinctive asymmetric body, complete with its signature pickguard, make a bold statement that’s both familiar and refreshingly different.
The Esprit I is a straightforward rock ‘n’ roll powerhouse, boasting a single pickup configuration for no-nonsense performance. Its long tenon set-neck construction merges a three-piece centre block agathis body with a swift-playing maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard, forming a sturdy foundation to shape the Esprit I’s tone.
With a reversed string tension and a solitary Fret-King WP90SK stacked pickup positioned close to the chrome aluminium GTB Lite wrapover tailpiece bridge, the Esprit I’s voice is versatile – it can sing, scream, wail, moan, and roar. It’s a guitar that can be mastered through the master volume, morphed with master tone, and subtly nuanced using the Fret-King Vari-coil control. The Esprit I invites both raw shredding power and nuanced playing; it’s a guitar that practically begs to be unleashed!
This original Fret-King Black Label Series™ guitar is the result of the collaboration between Trev Wilkinson and the UK Fret-King design team.
