Gibson Acoustic Hummingbird, Vintage Sunburst Overview

Since its introduction in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird has become an icon of music history - a history which continues to be renewed with modern updates staying true to the original design and sound whilst keeping the instrument relevant to today's players. Gibson's Acoustic Hummingbird in Vintage Sunburst is no exception; outstanding craftmanship, innovation, tone, and authenticity are standard for this superb American made instrument.

The versatile appeal of this much loved acoustic never seems to fall, and the highly crafted dreadnought body, which comprises of a solid Sitka Spruce top and solid Mahogany back, is faultlessly complimented by a deep vintage sunburst finish, and that iconic pickguard. A Rosewood fingerboard with Mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, stretches over a classic Gibson "Round Profile" Mahogany neck to create solid and comfortable access to those rich and deep Hummingbird tones, which via the LR Baggs™ VTC electronics, can be easily amplified without compromise or loss of quality.

What do Gibson say?

"Much of the Hummingbird’s appeal lies in its versatility. However you attack this flat-top, it pumps out rich, deep tones, and is equally at home strumming first-position chords as it is taking the spotlight for picking lead lines. Its spacious square-shoulder solid Mahogany body and sweet, select solid Sitka Spruce top are more than capable of nailing down the rhythm in the hands of a rock and roll sideman, or accompanying the most nuanced performance under the fingers of today’s alternative singer-songwriter. It really is the guitar that does it all!"
