Wow- a complete one-off GAK custom order! What we have here is a Standard Historic '58 Les Paul Standard finished in Tobacco Sunburst and then over-sprayed in Pelham Blue and aged in-house in the Custom Shop in Nashville! We were told at the time of ordering that this was the first colour-over-colour to be ordered from Gibson Custom making this instantly collectable! The guitar sounds fantastic and plays just like a '58 Les Paul should! 

Standard Historic spec includes the following improvements over previous incarnations of Historic guitars: a one-piece rosewood fingerboard, Kluson Deluxe machine heads, hot-hide glue neck fit, a Historic Truss Rod assembly with no tubing, accurate body and fingerboard binding colour, Custom Bucker pickups and period-correct Aniline dye. Also hide glue is used for the fingerboard and there is an anniversary badge on the back of the guitar on the pickup selector cover.

Created in the image of the original PAFs, Gibson Custom's already legendary Custom Bucker accurately recreates the original PAFs of the late '50s, using Alnico III magnets and unequal turns of 42 AWG wire in each coil for that characteristic PAF "bite." These pickups clean up beautifully at the guitar's volume controls, while Bumble Bee tone caps assist in that warm, singing "woman tone" when you roll back the tone controls. To top it all off, the Standard Historic Les Paul Standard Reissues play superbly right out of its Custom Shop hardshell case thanks to a trip through one of Gibson's state-of-the-art Plek machines before it leaves the Custom Shop floor. You won't find another one of these anywhere.
