Gibson Custom 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS, Bourbon Burst Overview

The 1958 Gibson Les Paul has to be one of the most - if not the most - iconic electric guitars of all time, and this faithful reissue recreates all the charisma, tone, and sheer playability of the original, but at a fraction of the cost.

With its carved Maple top and solid Mahogany back, the '58 Les Paul Standard VOS exudes quality and timeless design. A 1950's rounded profile neck with a Rosewood fingerboard provides unquestionable playability, while the period correct ABR-1 brass saddled bridge, aluminum tailpiece, and Kluson tuners ensure that tuning stability is as expected from such a renowned brand. Pickups are unpotted Alnico III CustomBuckers, which are in turn manipulated by the familiar two volume and two tone controls - complete with "bumblebee" capacitors and a three-way amber capped toggle switch.

With an inspiring period correct specification - which covers all aspects of this guitar from finish to electronics, Gibson have once again provided an exceptional and accessible alternative to a very expensive original model.

What Gibson say:

Gibson Custom Shop is the pinnacle of craftsmanship, quality, and sound excellence. Each instrument celebrates Gibson's legacy through accuracy, authenticity and attention to detail.

The 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue features all the painstaking historic construction methods of the famous '59 Reissues with a few historically-accurate spec differences that allow it stand on its own. Like the 1958 originals, it has narrow frets which help more of the fingerboard wood to be heard in the tone profile. It also has a round, chunky neck profile for a full feel and maximum bending leverage. And finally it has a beautiful plain maple top; each is unique and full of character. Available in a variety of classic sunburst shades.
