Gibson Custom Jimi Hendrix 1967 SG Custom, Aged Classic White Overview

The Gibson Custom Jimi Hendrix 1967 SG Custom is a faithful recreation of Jimi Hendrix’s iconic 1967 SG, which was right-handed but strung lefty. The most famous appearance was on The Dick Cavett Show on 9th September 1969 and was also used a number of times in concert. The SG body shape was a good fit for Hendrix, as the symmetrical body shape meant it could easily be flipped from right to left-handed, yet still give him easy access to the higher frets.

Features include a mahogany body, a 60’s SlimTaper profile neck also in mahogany, a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with custom block inlays, a long maestro vibrola tailpiece, three ‘68 Custom Humbuckers, which are more powerful and beefier than the single-coil pickups found on Jimi’s famous Stratocasters, and three ‘black witch hat’ style control knobs with gold inserts and dial pointers. The guitar is completed with a Murphy Lab Aged Classic White finish, a 3-ply black/white/black ‘67 Custom “Batwing” pickguard, and aged gold hardware.

The Gibson Custom Jimi Hendrix 1967 SG Custom is limited to 150 pieces.

Jimi Hendrix™ 1967 SG Custom, Jimi Hendrix™ SG Case (included), Hendrix™-branded Truss Rod Cover, Certificate of Authenticity, 5 Hendrix™ picks, limited edition 5"x7" archival print of Jimi Hendrix courtesy of Kramer Archives, signed by engineer/producer Eddie Kramer
