New for 2018, Gibson introduces the latest version of their immensely popular SG Special.

With its slim, twin-horn cutaway body crafted carefully with lightweight mahogany, the SG Special stays true to the iconic SG design and provides you with excellent freedom of movement for a comfortable performance. 

The SG Special's slim tapered mahogany neck is topped with a rich rosewood fingerboard featuring small block acrylic inlays and cryogenically treated frets to distribute the metal in a precise, even way, increasing strength, durability and rust resistance.

The jet black headstock features a classic Gibson gold script logo and 'Special' logo plate. Vintage style keystones finish the refined vintage look and respond brilliantly to your adjustments.  

For 2018 the SG Special comes equipped with a pair of mini-humbuckers on the bridge and neck. These incredibly bright pickups offer a narrower size with increased sensitivity, generating plenty of sustain and excellent note definition. Enjoy remarkably bright and balanced tones when using the pickups in unison.

The 2018 SG Special sports an aluminium tune-o-matic bridge, the infamous fixed bridge born way back in 1953 offers unparalleled reliability, sustain and performance.
Hardware on the SG Special is solid and looks fantastic, from its aluminium tailpiece to its top hat control knobs with silver inserts, every element has been crafted to compliment one other giving the SG Special a perfected vintage look.

Choose between two beautiful satin nitrocellulose lacquer finishes, a bright natural satin or dark and rich satin cherry.
