Gibson USA 2019 SG Standard Ebony Open Box Overview
The SG was originally introduced as the new 'Les Paul' model in 1961 as an attempt to create a lighter, double cutaway guitar which offered better access to the higher frets. Initial sales were good, however Les Paul eventually asked for the guitar to be renamed, Gibson called the guitar the SG. The SG has been a mainstay in the Gibson lineup ever since and has been the axe of choice.
