The Ibanez AS153 is simply a fantastic guitar regardless of the price. The fact that it sells for what it does is nothing short of amazing! As well as looking the absolute business the AS153 both plays and sounds superb. There is no skimping on spec or construction here- features such as an Ebony fingerboard, Artstar fret edge treatment (where the fret ends are meticulously rounded off into almost a sphere), bone nut and Super 58 pickups with Tri-Sound switching all go to make a top-line instrument. The Ibanez AS153 is a great semi-hollow guitar that can handle anything from hard rock to jazz. With Ibanez's classic Super '58 pickups designed to give you a classic PAF-a-like type tone, this guitar sounds great clean but has the ability to sound just as good - if not even better - when things are fully cranked too. The semi-hollow construction offers a great combination between sustain and harmonic richness thanks to the maple top, back and sides. Ebony Fretboard w/Artstar Fret Treatment
The Ebony fretboard with fret edge treatment provides a tight tonal response and crisp, smooth fingering. The Artstar treatment includes the rounding of the fret edges, intended to bring you that feeling of a nicely worn guitar neck that always feels like home.

Super '58 Pickups
The AS153 features the Ibanez original Super '58 pickups, widely regarded by Ibanez fans in the know as some of the best pick-ups Ibanez has ever made. Originally debuted back in the '70s these pickups deliver the smooth, nuanced tones and the biting growl a classic humbucker should.

Tri-Sound switch
The Tri-Sound switch for the neck pickup gives you huge jump in extra flexibility over your tone pvera standard single three-way switch. Of course there's the regular Humbucker in series you'd expect, but this three way also adds the option of using the neck humbucker in two further modes. First is parallel, to give you a brighter, single coil type tone with a little lower output, whilst keeping hum cancellation. Secondly, is coil-tapping for a much thinner single-coil type sound with a noticeable drop in gain. Perfect for funky rhythm chops or for cleaning up a bit a dirty tone a little.

ART-1 Bridge & Quik Change III Tailpiece
The ART-1 gives you improved sustain and tuning stability whilst the Quik Change III tailpiece lets you change strings a little faster and easier.
