Pushing the boundaries of the electric 7 string guitar it is amazing to think that 27 years ago Ibanez pretty much invented them with their Universe UV7! Now boldly venturing into the next phase with the fan-fret 'multi-scale' RGIM7BC with active EMG 808 pickups. Because of their slanted mounting angle, wider-than-normal pickups are required for a multi scale construction instrument, EMG808 pickups fit the bill perfectly not only in size, but also in sound. Proven performers for down-tuning, their highly responsive, super-tight growl is the superb matched for the RGIM. There's a toneful solid Mahogany body with a characterful exotic South American Bocote top finished in the awesome Deep Forest Burst Flat.

The 5-piece Maple/Bubinga Nitro Wizard-7 neck has fanned frets which give different scale lengths for each string. The thinking behind the multi scale neck is that the higher strings get a shorter 'regular' scale whilst the lower strings benefit from a longer scale length by giving them a stronger, fuller voice. This is enhanced on this guitar but the mono rail bridge which isolates each string individually allowing them to vibrate free from interference from the other strings.
