Had a little bit of trepidation about buying this as its my first 7 string. Once it arrived I was overjoyed to see what a beautiful guitar it is and after just 1/2 an hour of playing found that having the extra string caused me no problems at all. No only is the Northern Lights burst finish on the front stunning, but the grey stained ash body around the sides and back is almost as lovely to behold and all wrapped in a very glass like high gloss finish that is accentuated by the hard edged slab like RG body. As for how it plays? Well, its an Ibanez RG, so its a high speed shred machine, a precision tool ideal for metal, but with passive Dimarzio pickups it slow capable of subtlety with some lovely clean sounds and is actually capable of fitting into to any style of music.
Amazing materials used on this beast of a axe as well as the stunning Northern Lights Burst colours that in turn is complemented by great clarity of sound wether distorted or clean , plus great sustain and warm clear tones .The Gotoh locking tuners work great especially if your hitting hard on the strings. You can also feel the guitar vibrate with sound from the body and in the neck whilst playing . I absolutely love this guitar
