Ibanez SRFF805-BKS

The Ibanez SRFF805 5-string bass guitar utilises the rarely seen 'fanned fret' fingerboard design to enhance playability and string tension at the low end through multi scale length build. This bass comes with an Ash body and SRFF5 Fanned Fret 5 piece Jatoba/Bubinga neck. The pro tones come from the Bartolini BH1 pickups and Ibanez Custom electronics.

Very good quality bass given the price. Only the volume/eq dials feel a little cheap. Pickups seem very good. Strings a little bright (for my taste) but imagine they will deaden with time and I can eq this out to a certain extent. Tweaked the action and pickup height (upwards) to my preference but was perfectly playable straight out the box (once tuned up a tone to the proper pitch). Fan frets make the lower E and B strings sound ace (like a long scale bass) whilst the G string doesn't sound thin and twangy (like it would on a long scale). Surprisingly normal to play, despite what it looks like. VERY IMPRESSED!!!
