Introducing The new Black Country Customs Secret Path reverb pedal.

Reverb is evocative of space – a note contains pitch, but reverb contains place.

Without reverb you have no idea where you are. Every note has been played it is what happens between the notes that is special.

Sounds good through my rig, the plate and hall sound better to me but I'm used to the spring tank on one of my amps and the spring setting here is just an approximation of the real thing. The shimmer is nice but I'm not a fan of the other modulation effects may be because the edit feature in the 2nd mode is not intuative and requires some fiddling and guess work. Sturdy construction though I haven't opened it up to see internal quality. The switch is not the best I've ever used but adequate. I was surprised to find it was exactly the same footprint as a boss pedal so sat neatly in a cut out I already had on my pedal board. For the price and functions available in the unit i think it is worth the money, for something 'hand crafted' in the UK it's priced very competitively and once the shimmer is set right I thought it sounded awesome.

Fantastic reverb pedal from Laney at a very good GAK price. Provides above average Spring, Plate and Hall reverbs with modulation options on Spring and Plate with a subtle shimmer of their Secret Path (Hall) setting. Perfect compliment for an amp without reverb and does not go overboard with the ambient soundscapes that are currently popular with expensive boutique pedals. Only reservation is that Laney have adopted amp-like witch-hat controls which are slightly oversized. Couldn't find anything as good as this at the price and Black Country Customs pedals should perhaps get a bit more exposure.
