Line 6 Variax Standard II, Ebony Fingerboard, Vintage White Overview

The Line 6 Variax Standard combines all the innovative Line 6 technology of the former JTV series with Yamaha's legendary craftsmanship. The Variax Standard delivers unprecedented value that goes beyond any guitar in its price range.

Unlike other guitars in its price range, the JTV Technology in the Variax Standard means it can sound like an entire collection of vintage, modern, and exotic stringed instruments. You can even choose from an array of alternate tunings, all available at the flick of a switch. line 6 Workbench HD software means you can mix and match components and create almost any imaginary guitar your heart desires.

The Variax Standard delivers the rock-solid build you'd expect from a high-quality, Yamaha guitar. The lightweight alder body, one-piece maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, and custom-wound pickups serve up clear, full-bodied tone with harmonic richness.

Well made and well constructed guitar - I got mine in a sale for £399 - I think its worth more than that for the guitar alone... add in the emulators and its a steal.... the ability to change tuning, mid song if you wish, is fun and, in combination with the workbench software, you can create and store some pretty decent presets.... a decent guitar that's value for money, versitile and a lot of fun to play with...

The instrument is a very cheap Pacifica, the tremolo arm does not stay in one place, the trem creaks, the electric sound of the guitar is ok but very thin. The frets were very sharp at the edges cutting my finger skin. There were 2 high frets. The electrics from line 6 however are excellent, tracking is very good. Not had time to link it to computers etc. so i hope all that works?. I have 5 other Line 6 products and are all very reliable, so hopefully no problems there. I always wanted a Line 6 Variax I'm glad I bought it but it has cost extra to have problems sorted out

I've just recently bought the Line 6 variax standard in vintage white, It's a great guitar just needed a bit of fine tweaking to the action to get it down to were I prefer it. It's got some great sounds in it. I've not had the the time to fully go through it all but very satisfied with the purchase and it was on offer for £329! Dawson's are asking £640! Hope this helps in deciding whether to buy this guitar. Dave James.
