M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini USB MIDI Keyboard Controller Overview

The M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini is the smallest controller in the Oxygen Pro range, measuring at 15.8” x 7.52” x 2.56” (401mm x 191mm x 65mm) and weighing at just 1.2KG, you can utilise the great feeling action, as well as transport the Pro Mini to gigs or fit in small studios, as there’s no wasted space on the chassis.

There are 32 velocity-sensitive, semi-weighted mini-keys. The extra range provides a better platform for expressive soloing and playing, giving you more notes to play with before you reach for the Octave buttons. For the best piano-like playing experience, partner with the M-Audio SP-2 Sustain Pedal (sold separately).

The M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini is not just great for keyboard players. The need to input beats & rhythms on a more tactile pad has become a necessity for modern products, due to the rising popularity of “finger drumming”. The Pro Mini features x8 RGB, backlit, assignable, velocity-sensitive pads with Note Repeat for beat production, clip launching and more.

You can edit and manipulate virtual instruments, effect plugins, DAW control/faders (and more) with the x4 knobs and buttons, all of which are fully assignable to your own preferences. M-Audio has also created presets for auto-mapped DAW buttons, controls & plugin parameters, making the Pro Mini ready to use from the off. You can also get creative with the intuitive Arpeggiator with Type, Octave, Gate and Swing control too.

With Smart Chord and Smart Scale technology, the Oxygen Pro Mini removes any potential barriers to your production, including providing a solution to producers that may not be able to confident with playing the keyboard. With Smart Chord activated, pressing a single key or pad will play a full chord, with easy-to-use options to choose different chord inversions and customised progressions across the keybed. There’s even a solution for melodies and lead lines, as with Smart Scale enabled, the Oxygen Pro Mini’s keybed will only allow you to play the notes that belong to one of the 16 different scale variations available. This means you can spend less time hitting playing technique-based roadblocks and more time creating amazing music.

The M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini seamlessly integrates with any studio or live setup, as the Pro Mini has USB-MIDI connection and 5-pin MIDI Output for controlling external MIDI gear. You use any of the onboard parameters, pads or keys to control anything that is MIDI compatible.

The tactile layout makes you feel very familiar, as everything is in the right place. Featuring an OLED screen for quick control edits, as well as an included MIDI editor software and a complete software production package, The M-Audio Oxygen Pro Series has everything you need to be a successful producer.

The M-Audio Oxygen Pro Series comes in 4 sizes, including the Pro Mini, Pro 25, Pro 49 and Pro 61.

Make sure you download the latest firmware update to experience fresh features and deeper integration with Ableton Live. In addition to improved pitch & mod wheel performance, time clock and an enhanced Preset Editor, the new firmware adds Automatic Mapping for Ableton Live. Now you can control clips with pads, use the faders to control track functions and more. You can learn about the Oxygen Series’ tighter intergration with Ableton here.

I’m new to this altogether but I can see when something is well made. Doesn’t feel or look cheap IMO

This works very well with my Windows 10 PC running the REAPER DAW, although I haven't tried all of the keyboard's features yet.
