Built-in Arpeggiator

A standout performance feature that’s been added to the M-Audio Oxygen MKV series is the powerful onboard arpeggiator. Arpeggiators are a quick & inspiring way to add movement to a track. They work by individually playing through the notes you press down on the keyboard to a set rhythm & tempo, which can be determined by either the Oxygen MKV’s internal or an external clock from your DAW.

The Oxygen MKV’s flexible arpeggiator also allows you to set the Gate length (how long each note lasts), the Swing amount and how many octaves the arpeggio spans (up to 2). Once the arpeggiator is running, you can play it in two modes - Momentary (where it stops after you let go of the keys) and Latch (where it continues to run after you’ve released the keys, perfect for when you want your hands free to tweak).

Smart Controls

Smart Controls are another incredible upgrade that M-Audio has given to the Oxygen series, facilitating effortless music creation. Once you’ve chosen a key’s root note (C, Db, D, Eb, E, F, Gb, G, Ab, A, Bb, B) and a scale (Major, Minor or Custom) to play in, you can use bolster your musical ideas with Smart Chord and Smart Scale. Smart Chord enables you to play entire chords within the key & scale and you can choose from a variety of chord inversions (1-3-5, 1-3-7, 1-3-5-7, 1-5-9, 1-5-12, 3-5-1, 5-1-3 & RANDOM).

The Smart Scale allows you to play individual notes by assigning only your selected key & scale notes across the Oxygen MKV’s keyboard. For example, if you want to play in D Major, Smart Scale will convert the F & C keys to F# & C# so you won’t accidentally hit notes that are out of key.

Auto-Mapping
