Maestro Ranger Overdrive Pedal Overview

A seriously versatile overdrive with a smooth, dynamic and natural tone.

Natural Analog Overdrive

The Maestro Ranger overdrive pedal is inspired by sought-after vintage valve amps, using all-analogue circuitry to deliver its organic and expressive tone. The Ranger features a toggle switch that alternates between two distinct tonal flavours, essentially giving you two overdrives in one compact stompbox. Whether you’re using it as a subtle always-on tone enhancer or for a rich amp-like crunch, you can rely on the Ranger to elevate your sound.

Two In One

The Ranger’s Lo mode is a transparent, touch-sensitive overdrive that dynamically reacts to your pick attack and where your guitar’s volume knob is set. On this setting, the Ranger works brilliantly as a foundation for your tone and as a clean boost. The Hi mode is reminiscent of a cranked valve amp, with a highly expressive and warm tone that sounds great on its own and stacked with other gain pedals. Plus, you can run the Ranger at either a traditional 9V or at 12V for additional headroom and clarity.

Intuitive Layout

Like the other stompboxes in Maestro’s Original Collection, the Ranger features an intuitive and immediate 3-knob layout that encourages tweaking. The Gain and Tone control the amount of overdrive and its tonal character whilst the Level knob affects the output. You can set the Level well beyond unity gain if you want to hit the front end of your amp or other pedals harder for extra saturation.

Ready For Your Board

Maestro house their Ranger overdrive pedal within a road-worthy metal chassis that can take on years of repeated stomps. The compact pedalboard-friendly size and convenient top-mounted jacks make integrating the Ranger into your rig a breeze. The sturdy true-bypass footswitch maintains the purity of your guitar’s signal when the pedal is off whilst the eye-catching multi-coloured LEDs let you know the effect is active.

If you want to add an affordable and flexible overdrive pedal that can work as a foundation for your sound, a lead boost, a juicy amp-style drive and more, the Maestro Ranger will make a valuable addition to your 'board.
