Mapex PF1000TW Falcon Double Bass Drum Pedal

The Falcon design was influenced and road tested by a team of artists who want an incredibly smooth feel and simple adjustability. The settings are dialled-in at the factory, so it feels good right out of the bag with only minor adjustments needed to fit individual tastes. That means more time playing and less time adjusting.

The interchangeable drives (sold separately part # ACF-DD, and ACF-SD) allow players to purchase only one pedal, but still have the freedom to experiment with the differences between chain, strap, and direct drive feels. It also enables double-pedal players to use different drives for each pedal to balance the feel between the left and right feet.

  • The sculpted footboard allows advanced control and comfort.
  • Falcon Beaters have interchangeable 10g and 20g weights.

I bought the Mapex Falcon double pedal as a replacement for my 18 Year old Pearl Eliminator, which had finally given up the ghost. The Falcon is very well made and has some neat little features, like the fact that the tension springs are on a movable joint, as oppose to just having the end of the spring going into a hole of the tension nut. This stops the possibility of the spring wearing thin and snapping at that point. There is plenty of adjustment for the floorboards and beater angles, all independent of each other. The bearings are very slick and smooth running. I haven't had much opportunity to try different setups as of yet, but to be frank, the Falcon played great straight out of the box!! The Falcon also comes in a great protective carry case. The only downside with that, is that the shaft for the slave pedal, has to be put back to its shortest setting on order to fit in it's slot in the case lid. Hardly a problem in all honesty. I would also like to say that at £286 I feel the Falcon is very well priced considering the build quality and adjustability!! If you are looking at a new double pedal, I would heartily recommend them and suggest checking them out!!
