Martin Grand J-16E 12-String Jumbo Electro Acoustic Overview

The Martin Grand J-16E 12-string is a U.S. crafted electro-acoustic guitar, with a powerful and weighty sound that boasts balanced harmonics and a full low-end. This guitar is an ideal solution for players that are looking to expand the tonal palette of their acoustic instrument roster with the lush chorus that only a twelve string can provide.

At the core of the Martin Grand J-16E 12 string’s enormous sound is its East Indian Rosewood construction, which is renowned for its crisp high-end fidelity and deep lows. The classic Sitka Spruce top contributes to the Grand J16-E 12-string’s clarity and striking looks.

The Martin Grand J-16 E 12-string can attribute its stellar build-quality to its origins, having been crafted by Martin’s skilled luthiers in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. To give the Grand J-16E 12-string its gorgeous resonance and room-filling tone, Martin have opted for a scalloped X-bracing construction.

Thanks to the advanced Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT2 electronics, the Martin Grand J-16E 12 string’s plugged-in sound conveys the nuance and detail of its true voice whilst retaining dynamics and responsiveness. The discrete controls are tucked away in the soundhole, preserving the Grand J-16E 12-string’s traditional looks.

Overview by Martin

Ideal for experienced players looking to build on their skills, the Grand J-16E 12 String is a full-bodied, muscular guitar that generates well balanced harmonics with a strong, solid low end. We craft it in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, with East Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, so this powerhouse looks as good as it sounds. We also added scalloped X-bracing to create beautifully resonant tone that fills the room even when unplugged. And, while playing a 12 string can be challenging, our high-performance taper neck makes this one comfortable playing, big-sounding guitar.
