I choose the Monster BM to get a different sound from the amps I already own (Marshall & VOX). I was looking for something that has a clean tone which I can then drive with pedals. The amp delivers on that with a mellow, 'tube' driven warm sound. I'm using it in a home studio so 5W is plenty loud enough (cranking it up into a marshall 4x12 and the whole household knows it). I did have a problem with the first unit I received (hence 4 stars) - it stopped working after 2 days. GAK made the replacement process very easy (old unit was picked up from home and new one delivered 2 days later) - the new one is working fine.

Early days, but it sounds great, thicker than my usual Vox style amps, which is why I wanted to try it. Looking forward to doing some recording. Tone adjustment is limited, so I found a couple of sweet spots, one clean, one dirty. Pretty loud if needed. Valves look a bit Chinese cheap, but could be upgraded.
