Rane Twelve Digital Turntable Controller
Rane Twelve Digital TurntableController overview by GAK
The Rane Twelve is a groundbreaking motorized DJ control system that emulates with precision the functionality of a traditional vinyl turntable, without the inclusion of jumping needles and tonearms.
Built for seamless integration with Serato software, the Rane Twelve has a full-size 12-inch platter including slipmat and 12-inch vinyl, powered with a high torque motor producing 3600 ticks of platter resolution for precise control.
The Rane Twelve allows for precise pitch adjustment with its backlit 8/16/50% pitch range select buttons and precise dual-resolution slider. To the left of that, you will find the Twelve's unique 'Strip Search' console with that work perfectly with Serato.
Control up to 4 separate decks within Serato, easily shifting between them via the backlit deck assignment pads found in the top left corner. Additional buttons and actions include the Rane Twelves RPM platter speed buttons and tradition motor off switch with bright red platter facing LED.
The Rane Twelve is honestly built like some kind of steel bunker, out the box its impressive full size fully emulates that of a traditional turntable (minus a little room for the tonearm etc), it's solid steel construction is clearly built to last and all the buttons and sliders feel solid and responsive.
When used for scratching and various other turntable shenanigans, the Rane Twelve feels just like a traditional motorised turntable, paired with a popular scratch mixer its a lot of fun to scratch with and gives you a perfect response.
It is also perfectly accurate for minor adjustments via the platters for precision beat matching and transitions with House, Garage, 140 etc.
Whether you are a vinyl purist looking to use your new DJ software in the most familiar fashion, or a digital controller DJ searching for a more intuitive and traditional means of mix control, the Rane Twelve digital turntable is a solid choice.
