Rapier Saffire Bass, Fiesta Red Overview

Introducing the 4-string short-scale Rapier™ Saffire Bass, the newest addition to the highly successful series crafted by the legendary UK guitar builder and designer, Alan Entwistle. This bass pays homage to the original iconic Rapier’s that played a significant role in the British guitar and bass industry during the 1960s.

This exciting model boasts tonewood and hardware upgrades, featuring a basswood body, a 4-bolt hard rock maple neck with a fully adjustable truss rod, and a 25-fret (including zero fret) double octave fingerboard with a 31-inch (78.74 cm) scale length.

Equipped with a pair of Alan Entwistle EWR64B double coil pickups, a 3-way selector switch, single volume control, global tone control, and mid boost control, the Rapier Saffire Bass is an incredibly versatile instrument suitable for a wide range of musical styles. It effortlessly delivers the classic Rapier bass voice, famously heard on numerous early British pop songs.

Presented in a stunning Fiesta Red finish and complemented by the flagship 2-piece, 3-ply scratchplate, this bass is a visual delight. It also features a GraphTech nut, chrome machine heads, and a fully adjustable 4-saddle bridge, ensuring superior playability and tuning stability.

The Rapier Saffire Bass combines vintage charm with modern versatility, making it an ideal choice for bass players seeking that iconic British sound. Whether you’re playing classic tunes or exploring new musical frontiers, this bass will be your faithful companion, delivering outstanding tone and performance in style.

Build quality for the money is good. Beware when changing strings, as through body holes may not be big enough for new strings to sit right on ball ends.
