Roland E-A7 Expandable Arranger Keyboard Overview

Lightweight, professional Arranger Keyboard that covers all the bases.

The Roland E-A7 is an Arranger Keyboard for the professional keyboardist. It sits at the top of the Roland Arranger Keyboard category and is armed with everything you need for live performance.

The E-A7 is lightweight and easy to transport, weighing just 8 kg. This is an impressive feat considering the E-A7 has 2x 10cm 12W speakers built-in. With 61 keys, the E-A7 fits perfectly into the Roland CB-B61 Black 61-Note Keyboard Bag, with the included music rest even slotting into the front pocket.

There is a huge amount of tones, an extensive library of backing styles and both are expandable.

Over 1,500 Tones From Around The World

If you are looking for an Arranger Keyboard that is able to perform in any musical style you can think of, the E-A7 is a wise pick.

As you would expect, you’ll find the essential instruments, quintessential to the modern keyboard player. Pianos, E.Pianos, Organs, Clavs, String Ensemble, Guitars, Basses, Synths, Orchestral, Vocal, Percussive, SFX and Drum tones are all included.

For a more Piano-like playing experience, add a Roland DP 10 Piano Style Sustain Pedal when adding to the basket.

What makes the E-A7 even more versatile is the inclusion of world instruments. You can find ethnic tones from across the globe, including India, Thailand, China, Khaligi, Oriental, Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt, Eastern European, Turkish, Maghrebi, Latin America and Brazil.

To make the world sounds more accurate, you can even change the scaling of the E-A7. With options for quarter tones and the ability to tune individual notes, you can authentically play in these musical genres.

If you have ever found yourself short on sounds, the E-A7 has you covered. Not only is the E-A7 expandable, you can also load in your own user samples or use the onboard sampling function. There’s even a MIDI Output should you want to control other MIDI-compatible instruments.

Load In Your Own Samples & Onboard Sampling

When creating your own samples, you can use the Audio Input to use the E-A7 as a Sampler. What makes this feature so useful is the compatibility with Multi-Sampling. This means whatever sample you import can be stretched across the keybed so you can perform with it instantly.

One Multi-Sample is able to use 128 different pitches and lay them across the keybed. It will save to one location and be treated as if it were a tone. This is a fantastic feature for those that want to sample each key of their favourite analogue synths or acoustic instruments.

Styles For Every Genre

The Roland E-A7 has a huge library of 695 backing styles including some from Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and South America.

You would be hard-pressed to find a musician that can play in as many genres as the E-A7, making it the ultimate gigging companion. You have the confidence to turn up to any venue, in any country in the world and play the perfect set.

All 695 Styles have a feature called One Touch Performance. This setting allows you to recall 4 sounds that are locked to a Style and recall them at the touch of a button.

If you still can’t find the perfect style for you among the 695 included backings, the E-A7 is expandable. You can import any Roland Backing Style through the USB Memory port with the use of a USB Stick (sold separately).

If you still can’t find the perfect styles among the 695 included backings and expansions - you can write your own!

For users that want to play along to their favourite songs, the E-A7 can play MP3, MP3+CDG, KAR, SMF and WAV files via a USB Memory Stick. Your song list and lyrics will appear on one of the onboard screens.

Write Your Own Styles

If you are a songwriter, the E-A7 has the ability for you to write your own Backing Tracks, with Style Creator.

You can write your own custom Intro, Verse, Chorus, Middle 8, Solo, Fills and Endings, without having to use external software. Each section within a Custom Style can be programmed with Major, Minor and 7th variations as required. Style Creator enables you to stay at your keyboard and write music the moment inspiration strikes you.
