"The FP-90X is the top of the range Digital Piano in the FP-Series. It boasts PureAcoustic Modelling, PureAcoustic Ambience, MyStage, PHA-50 Hybrid Wood Action, 362 tones, the most onboard controls, the most powerful amplifier and the most speakers of the portable FP Series.

The action on the FP-90X is the same as the flagship GP-607, which has hybrid wooden keys, graduation, escapement, ebony/ivory feel, stabilising pins and individual keyweights. The Touch Responce can be edited to 100 different settings, tailoring the action to your piano-playing style.

The FP-90X has Roland’s flagship Piano Engine, PureAcoustic modelling, which features in the LX Range. This engine is modelled and has limitless polyphony, making it Roland’s most realistic sounding piano ever. The FP-90X comes with a DP-10 Sustain Pedal, which offers continuous and half-pedalling capabilities and supports the portable RPU-3 Triple Pedal Unit (sold separately). The Roland FP-90X sits at the top of the extremely popular FP range. It has the exceptional PureAcoustic sound engine that is found in Roland’s most advanced Digital Pianos, with the most detailed modelling technology and unlimited polyphony. The FP-90X gives you Roland’s most realistic and expressive response available today, convincing you that you are sat playing an acoustic piano.

The PHA-50 Action is the most advanced action available on a Portable Piano. It features hybrid wooden/composite keys with Ebony/Ivory Feel, Escapement, individual hammer weights and stabilising pins to prevent unwanted lateral movement. The detail of this advanced key mechanism allows you to find every minute detail of the hyper-realistic sound engine. Like the FP-60X, Roland have also included 100 different levels of Touch Response, meaning you can tailor the playing experience to your preference.

With a massive 362 tones, the FP-90X has the largest variety of tones in the FP range. Two sounds can be Layered/Split across the keys with a selectable split point. This means you can have a bass in the left hand and a piano in the right, then choose where the lowest/highest note for either instrument can be played on the key bed. Each sound can be edited on the fly with the 3-Band EQ and Ambience control.

The FP-90X has the most tone customisation in the FP Series, featuring PureAcoustic Ambience, which is a technology that allows users to place an acoustic piano in a specific environment and customise the sound of the “natural” reverberation. When used in conjunction with MyStage, you can virtually place your FP-90X in 12 different locations and experience the atmosphere of these locations. MyStage presents instruments that would typically be associated with a specific environment, like a Grand Piano on the stage of a Grand Auditorium, waiting for you to play a masterpiece.

Once you have made your desired edits/customisations, you can store complete setups as a registration to the internal memory. There are 45 locations, which can be controlled via an optional foot pedal (FS Series or RPU-3), meaning that you can perform song/sound transitions live, without taking your hands off the keyboard.

As the FP Series are hybrid Digital Pianos/Stage Pianos, they have been designed to be transported, as well as used at home. With the premium features available in the FP-90X, you can use it to rehearse, perform live or record in the studio with confidence. The internal 4-way 60w speaker system (2x25w & 2x5w), housed within a speaker box, make the FP-90X suitable for use in a range of venues. This makes the FP-90X the perfect choice for keyboard players that do not want to lug around heavy external amplification.

As per the FP-60X, the FP-90X can play audio tracks from either the Aux In, a connected USB flash drive or has Bluetooth Audio/MIDI (learn more about Bluetooth here).

Roland make a series of dedicated accessories to further enhance the experience of an FP Series Digital Piano. By opting for the Roland KSC-92 Stand and KPD-90 Triple Pedal Unit, you can transform your FP-90X into a stylish modern looking Digital Piano. You can then quickly remove the FP-60X and take it to your gig, rehearsal or studio session. When returning home again, simply place it back on its stand! As the FP-60X fastens to the wooden KSC-90 with four thumbscrews, users will find that it is supported more sturdily than an X-Stand. Users can also use the Roland RPU-3 Triple Pedal Unit for more portability.
